Sensex slides 675 pts; private bank shares decline
At 10:30 IST, the barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, tanked 674.80 points or 0.90% to 74,147.74. The Nifty 50 index lost 224.95 points or 0.95% to 23,224.70.
In the broader market, the BSE 150 MidCap Index declined 1.01% and the BSE 250 SmallCap Index fell 0.51%.
The market breadth was weak. On the BSE, 1,415 shares rose and 2,369 shares fell. A total of 257 shares were unchanged.
New Listings:
Shares of National Stock Exchange of India were currently trading at Rs 1,866.25 at 10:16 IST on the BSE, representing a premium of 4.55% as compared with the issue price of Rs 1,785.
The stock debuted at Rs 1,800 on the BSE, a premium of 0.84% over its issue price.
So far, the stock has hit a high of Rs 1,878 and a low of Rs 1,800. On the BSE, over 283.29 lakh shares of the company were traded in the counter so far.
Shares of Sonaselection India were currently trading at Rs 107.09 at 10:16 IST on the BSE, representing a premium of 8.17% as compared with the issue price of Rs 99.
The stock debuted at Rs 102 on the BSE, a premium of 3.03% over its issue price.
So far, the stock has hit a high of Rs 107.09 and a low of Rs 102. On the BSE, over 2.38 lakh shares of the company were traded in the counter so far.
Buzzing Index:
The Nifty Private Bank index declined 1.70% to 26,897.30. The index rose 0.28% in the past trading session.
IDFC First Bank (down 3.85%), Axis Bank (down 3.36%), IndusInd Bank (down 3.36%), RBL Bank (down 3.34%), Yes Bank (down 2.84%), Bandhan Bank (down 2.69%), HDFC Bank (down 1.3%), Kotak Mahindra Bank (down 1.23%) and Federal Bank (down 0.92%) jumped.
