Economic Buzz: Australia employment hits record high, rises 39,500 in August

Australia?s employment rose by 39,500 to a record 14.84 million in August, reversing a revised 15,900 decline in July. The increase was driven by a 45,800 surge in part-time jobs, while full-time employment fell by 6,300. The participation rate climbed to 67.1% from 66.9%, with the employment-to-population ratio edging up to 63.9%. On an annual basis, employment increased by 238,100, or 1.6%.
