Commodities Buzz: US crude oil stocks surge around 3 million barrels

The US Energy Information Administration data showed today that commercial crude oil stocks excluding the Strategic Petroleum Reserve rose by around 3 million barrels to 426.4 million barrels in the week ended September 18. This is in stark contrast to the previous reading. The prior week?s data showed a decrease in inventories by 0.6 million barrels.
