Economic Buzz: UK business activity slows in September

Private sector activity in the United Kingdom fell to the lowest point in four months in September, according to a preliminary report by S&P Global on Wednesday.

The Flash Composite Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) stood at 51.7, down from 2.5 in August. The Flash Services PMI slumped 1.2 points to 52.5, while the Flash Manufacturing PMI increased by 0.3 points to 52. Input price inflation accelerated for the second month, growing to its highest since June, while business optimism was unchanged from August's six-month high.
