Gold slides toward $4,300 as hawkish Fed tone weighs

22-Sep-2026 | 14:42
Gold fell toward $4,300 an ounce on Tuesday, extending the previous session?s losses as hawkish comments from Federal Reserve officials strengthened expectations of further US rate hikes. Investors are awaiting speeches from key Fed officials and the ADP employment report for fresh signals on the US economy and monetary policy. The dollar and Treasury yields remained key drivers for bullion, while easing oil prices and increased diplomatic efforts to end the Middle East conflict have reduced inflation concerns. President Donald Trump?s potential meeting with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian is also being closely watched for further cues on geopolitical risks. MCX gold futures slipped 0.3% to ₹152,659 per 10 grams.
