Economic Buzz: UK House Price Index up 0.7% on month in Sep-26

Rightmove?s UK House Price Index rose 0.7% month on month in September, reversing a -2% reading in the prior period and reflected a return to monthly price growth after the earlier decline. The average asking price of newly-listed properties for sale rose to ?367,440. This is the first increase to property asking prices since May. September?s price increase is also larger than the ten-year September average of 0.5%, which is an early sign of the usual increase in activity. However, prices remain 0.8% lower than at this time last year.
