Commodities Buzz: EIA says natural gas inventories rise 44 bcf

The Energy Information Administration reported that working natural gas in underground storage across the Lower 48 states stood at 3,298 Bcf as of Friday, September 11, 2026. The EIA data showed a net increase of 44 Bcf from the prior week, with stocks trailing the year-ago level by 122 Bcf while exceeding the five-year average of 3,180 Bcf by 118 Bcf. EIA indicated that total working gas remains within the five-year historical range.
