Economic Buzz: US retail sales rebound in August

The US retail sales rebounded in August. Retail sales rose 1.2% last month to $773.9 billion after a revised 0.5% drop in July, which was the first decline in nine months, the Commerce Department's Census Bureau said on Wednesday. Core retail sales i.e. retail sales excluding automobiles, gasoline, building materials and food services edged up 1.4% last month after an unrevised 0.4% decline in July.
