Private employers in the United States added an average of 16,250 jobs per week in the four weeks ending August 29, according to a report by Automatic Data Processing Inc. (ADP) released on Tuesday.

The figure represents an increase compared to the previous week's four-week moving average of 12,250. The previous average was revised from 12,000 in the preliminary report.
