OPEC forecasts global economic growth to expand by 3% in 2026 and accelerate slightly to 3.2% in 2027, according to its September 2026 Monthly Oil Market Report. The global outlook remains resilient, with steady private household consumption in most major economies, and fiscal support, technology investment and steady global trade providing additional support, OPEC stated. Amid these underlying growth trends, the 2026 global growth forecast remains at 3%, unchanged from the previous month's assessment. In 2027, the prospect of easing inflation and consequently relatively more accommodative monetary policies, alongside continued technology-led investment and fiscal support, is anticipated to underpin global economic growth. Combined with a continued healthy dynamic in manufacturing and global trade, this is expected to lift global growth to 3.2%, unchanged from the previous month?s assessment, the cartel further noted.
