09-Sep-2026 | 16:37
The Indian Rupee (INR) slipped today, adding to its recent decline against the US as soaring crude oil prices and sustained losses in local equities weighed. The INR has broken above 95 per US dollar mark and currently quotes down 34 paise at 95.09 per US dollar. These are the lowest levels in around one and half weeks for the local currency. WTI Crude oil futures hit near $95 per barrel and pulled the benchmark equity index NIFTY50 well under 24000 mark. The index has slipped to near three-month low following recent slide.
