Economic Buzz: German trade surplus up to ?21.3B in July

The German trade surplus amounted to ?21.3 billion in July, up from the adjusted ?15.4 billion recorded in June and the ?16.8 billion recorded in July 2025, the country's Federal Statistical Office, Destatis, revealed in a report on Tuesday.

The country's calendar- and seasonally adjusted exports stood at ?138.2 billion, decreasing 0.8% on a monthly level and up 6.1% year-over-year. Imports stood at ?116.9 billion, down 5.7% month-on-month and growing 3% on an annual level.

Exports to the European Union decreased by 1.6% in July compared to June, coming in at ?78 billion, while imports declined 6.1% to ?59.6 billion. Exports to non-EU countries rose 0.2% month-on-month to ?60.2 billion, while imports worsened 5.3% to ?57.4 billion.
