Economic Buzz: Eurozone's Q2 growth up to 0.6% from 0.4%

The euro area's economic growth in the second quarter was revised up to 0.6% quarter-on-quarter from 0.4% previously, according to the final report by Eurostat released on Monday. The European Union grew by 0.7%, up from 0.5%. Annually, both the Eurozone and the EU's GDP growth was revised up by 0.2 percentage points to 1.2% and 1.4%, respectively. Ireland grew the most in the second quarter at 10.2%, followed by Slovenia at 1.8%. The number of employed people stood at 176.4 million in the euro area and 221.4 million in the EU, with employment increasing by 0.1% in both compared to the first quarter. Year-on-year, employment was up by 0.5% in the Eurozone and 0.4% in the EU.
