Commodities Buzz: Silver net speculative long positions hit two-month high

Precious metals speculators added to their net long positions in the Silver futures markets last week after recent declines, according to the latest Commitment of Traders (COT) data released by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). The non-commercial futures contracts of Silver futures, traded by large speculators, hedge funds and retailers, totaled a net position of 26739 contracts in the data reported through September 1, 2026. This was a weekly gain of 1478 net contracts and pulled up net longs to around two-month high.
