Commodities Buzz: Gold net speculative long positions fall from seven-month high

Precious metals speculators sharply cut their net long position in the Gold futures, according to the latest Commitment of Traders (COT) data released by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). The non-commercial futures contracts of Gold futures, traded by large speculators, hedge funds and retailers, totalled a net position of 228124 contracts in the data reported through September 1, 2026, sliding by 15210 contracts from the previous week. The net longs have slipped from a seven-month high.
