Jeera hits around one-month high, undertone positive as markets eye festive demand

NCDEX Jeera futures edged up today, adding to recent gains and hitting one-month high above Rs 21500 per quintal as traders expected a rise in spot demand in retail markets ahead of the festive season. Spot Jeera prices in Unjha have been lingering around Rs 20600-20800 per quintal mark over last one-month though there is a steady upward bias in the commodity. The futures are currently trading up marginally at Rs 21320 per quintal. The next month futures i.e. October 2026 contract is up 0.18% at Rs 21920 per quintal, reflecting a generally positive undertone in the commodity for near term. The open interest in the October contract has shot up by around 22% today.
