Economic Buzz: US manufacturing activity stays in expansion mode

Economic activity in the manufacturing sector expanded in August for the eighth consecutive month, according to latest ISM Manufacturing PMI data. The Manufacturing PMI registered 54.6 percent in August, 1 percentage point below the July figure of 55.6 percent. The ISM survey's new orders measure slipped to 53.7 last month from 56.7 in July.
