Economic Buzz: UK annual house price growth up to 1.6% in August

House prices in the United Kingdom saw an annual growth of 1.6% in August, the Nationwide House Price Index released on Tuesday showed. The figure marks a rise from July, when annual house price growth stood at 1.4%.

On a monthly basis, the index was up by 0.2% on a seasonally adjusted basis, while the average house price in the country stood at ?275,465.
