Copper gains for second month, rallies 3.5% in Aug-26

COMEX Copper futures are witnessing modest gains amid mixed equities today. The metal trades at $6.69 per pound, up 0.47% on the day. The counter has gained for second month, rising 3.50% in Aug-26 after a 3.40% gain in Jul-26. Meanwhile, today, Asian shares saw choppy moves. China's Shanghai Composite index soared 0.86%. Hong Kong?s Hang Seng index was flat while Japanese Nikkei index ended down marginally by 0.14% amid a strong intraday bounce. European stocks are witnessing mixed moves. The US stock markets slipped in last session following Fed Chairman Kevin Warsh's statement signaling a possible rate hike due to persistently high inflation. The Dow Jones eased 0.02%. The index is up around 2% this month.
