Global markets enter September with long-term interest rates elevated amid high energy prices, with the week ahead driven by major employment, inflation, GDP and PMI releases, alongside monetary-policy decisions from key central banks.

US: The US economic calendar will be dominated by the BLS Employment Situation report, with investors also watching the ADP employment report, JOLTS job openings, ISM manufacturing and services PMIs, trade balance and factory orders. The Federal Reserve?s Beige Book and speeches from Fed officials will also be closely monitored for fresh signals on the interest-rate outlook.

Europe: In Europe, the focus will be on Eurozone flash inflation and unemployment data, alongside inflation releases from Germany and Italy. Manufacturing and services PMIs, German factory orders, retail sales and UK housing data will also provide clues on regional economic momentum and inflationary pressures.

Asia: Asia-Pacific markets will track China?s official and private manufacturing and services PMIs, while India will release Q2 GDP, current account and final PMI data. Japan?s calendar features industrial production, retail sales, unemployment, consumer confidence and household spending, while Australia will publish Q2 GDP, trade, building permits and current account data. The Reserve Bank of New Zealand will also announce its latest policy decision.
