Economic Buzz: Japan's Tokyo inflation down from 2% to 1.9% in August

The annual inflation rate in the Ku-area of Tokyo came in at 1.9% in August, edging down from the 2% registered in the previous month, the Statistics Bureau of Japan said on Friday.

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) excluding fresh food and energy stayed at 2%, while the figure excluding only fresh food fell to 1.8% from last month's 1.9%.
