Commodities Buzz: EIA Natural Gas weekly inventories edge up 15 BCF

The US Energy Information Administration reported today that working gas in underground storage across the Lower 48 states stood at 3,184 billion cubic feet as of August 21, 2026. This figure, released on August 27, 2026, reflects a net increase of 15 Bcf from the previous week. According to the EIA's Weekly Natural Gas Storage Report, stocks were 30 Bcf lower than the same time last year but are 167 Bcf above the five-year average of 3,017 Bcf. Total working gas is holding within the historical five-year range.
