Economic Buzz: German Q2 GDP growth revised up to 0.3%

Germany's gross domestic product (GDP), adjusted for price, seasonal, and calendar effects, stood at 0.3% in the second quarter of 2026 compared with the previous three-month period, the country's Federal Statistical Office, Destatis, said in its final report released on Tuesday. The figure was revised up by 0.1 percentage points compared to the preliminary report.

On an annual basis, the price-and-calendar-adjusted figure rose by 1%. The report also stated that in the European Union as a whole, economic output was slightly stronger than in Germany. Government final consumption expenditure was up 1% annually for the quarter, while household final consumption expenditure grew 2.9%, and employment went down by 0.5%.
