Quick Wrap: Nifty Metal Index gains 1.59%

Nifty Metal index closed up 1.59% at 13381.45 today. The index has gained 8.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Welspun Corp Ltd added 4.21%, Steel Authority of India Ltd rose 3.57% and JSW Steel Ltd jumped 2.57%. The Nifty Metal index has soared 43.00% over last one year compared to the 2.62% slide in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty PSU Bank index has dropped 0.93% and Nifty Realty index increased 0.60% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 has slid 0.14% to close at 24219.05 while the SENSEX has dropped 0.22% to close at 77369.11 today.
