Nifty above 24,250; metal shares in demand

The key equity benchmarks traded with modest gains in the morning trade. The Nifty traded above the 24,250 mark. Metal shares extend gains for the third consecutive trading session.

At 10:30 IST, the barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, jumped 90.82 points or 0.12% to 77,631.65. The Nifty 50 index added 29.95 points or 0.12% to 24,280.25.

The broader market outperformed the frontline indices. The BSE 150 MidCap Index advanced 0.30% and the BSE 250 SmallCap Index rose 0.48%.

The market breadth was strong. On the BSE, 2,335 shares rose and 1,586 shares fell. A total of 283 shares were unchanged.

New Listing:

Shares of Lalithaa Jewellery Mart were currently trading at Rs 269.20 at 10:25 IST on the BSE, representing a premium of 33.93% as compared with the issue price of Rs 201.

The stock debuted at Rs 265.30 on the BSE, a premium of 31.99% over its issue price.

So far, the stock has hit a high of Rs 274.30 and a low of Rs 261. On the BSE, over 59.05 lakh shares of the company were traded in the counter so far.

Shares of Horizon Industrial Parks were currently trading at Rs 58.62 at 10:25 IST on the BSE, representing a discount of 2.30% as compared with the issue price of Rs 60.

The stock debuted at Rs 59.65 on the BSE, a discount of 0.58% over its issue price.

So far, the stock has hit a high of Rs 60.20 and a low of Rs 57.41. On the BSE, over 23.93 lakh shares of the company were traded in the counter so far.

Buzzing Index:

The Nifty Metal index rose 1.04% to 13,310.15. The index jumped 2.12% in the three consecutive trading sessions.

Steel Authority of India (up 3.17%), Welspun Corp (up 2.25%), Hindalco Industries (up 1.52%), National Aluminium Company (up 1.36%), Tata Steel (up 0.82%), Jindal Steel (up 0.75%), JSW Steel (up 0.72%), Lloyds Metals & Energy (up 0.68%), Adani Enterprises (up 0.57%) and Jindal Stainless (up 0.55%) jumped.

Stocks in Spotlight:

Vishal Mega Mart rose 9.99% after the company?s board approved the reappointment of Gunender Kapur as managing director and chief executive officer for a five-year term, effective from 1 September 2026 to 31 August 2031.

B.R. Goyal Infrastructure rose 1.51% after the company received a Rs 151.06 crore letter of award from NHAI for operating as the user-fee collection agency at Jajau Fee Plaza, located on the Agra?Gwalior section of NH-3 in Madhya Pradesh.
