Power Grid wins bid for transmission project in Gujarat

Power Grid Corporation of India has been declared as successful bidder under Tariff Based Competitive Bidding to establish Inter-State Transmission System for the project namely ?Transmission system for Integration of Power from RE Projects in Jam Khambhaliya REZ in Gujarat - Phase II (5500MW) and Jamnagar Phase-I (1000 MW)? on Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) basis, at a discovered tariff of Rs. 822.91 crore per annum. The Letter of Intent (LoI) has been received by POWERGRID on 21 August 2026.

The project involves the establishment of a new GIS substation at Kalyanpur (Gujarat) along with ICT augmentation and bay extension works at under-construction substations in the state of Gujarat and the construction of a 765 kV transmission lines traversing the state of Gujarat.
