Manipal Health Enterprises Q1 PAT drops 7% YoY to Rs 232 cr

Manipal Health Enterprises reported a 7.48% decline in consolidated net profit to Rs 231.65 crore in Q1 FY27 from Rs 250.37 crore in Q1 FY26, despite strong growth in revenue and operating performance.
Adjusted profit after tax (PAT), excluding Rs 89 crore of post-tax interest expense on non-convertible debentures (NCDs) raised for the acquisition of Sahyadri Hospitals, grew 30.9% year-on-year.

Revenue from operations increased 38.12% year-on-year to Rs 3,090.63 crore during the quarter.

Profit before exceptional items and tax declined 8.81% to Rs 330.65 crore in Q1 FY27. The company reported exceptional expenses of Rs 15.47 crore towards the amortised portion of incentive costs.

EBITDA jumped 26.4% year-on-year to Rs 749 crore. Excluding a one-off gain of Rs 15 crore recorded in Q1 FY26, EBITDA growth stood at 29.7%. EBITDA margin, however, contracted to 24.2% from 26.5% a year earlier.

Inpatient and outpatient volumes grew 38.8% and 26%, respectively, during the quarter. Occupancy improved by 290 basis points year-on-year to 65%. Average revenue per occupied bed (ARPOB) increased marginally to Rs 71,500 per day from Rs 71,000 per day in the year-ago quarter.

Sahyadri Hospitals reported 12.8% year-on-year growth in revenue and 18.7% growth in EBITDA, supported by higher ARPOB and improved operating efficiency. The company said the integration of Sahyadri is expected to generate further benefits through greater clinical integration, shared capabilities and operating scale.

Gross inpatient revenue from CONGO-R specialties increased 45% year-on-year, with the specialty mix rising to 65.4%. Oncology and orthopaedics remained key growth drivers, with inpatient revenue increasing 62% and 49%, respectively.

Shares of Manipal Health Enterprises entered into the stock market on 5 August 2026. The stock debuted at Rs 655, a premium of 11.02% over its issue price of Rs 590. The company received bids for 44.30 crore shares as against 9 crore shares on offer. He IPO was subscribed 4.92 times.

The scrip declined 1.01% to settle at Rs 716.95 on Friday, 21 August 2026.
