Natural Gas attempts a rebound after 3% tumble in last session

Natural Gas futures bounced back today after a 3% correction in last session as markets eyed forecasts indicating extreme heat across the Southern US which will likely push up cooling demand. Meanwhile, the US Energy Information Administration reported yesterday that working natural gas stocks in the Lower 48 states stood at 3,169 billion cubic feet as of August 14, 2026, according to its weekly storage report released on August 20. The figure marks a net increase of 16 Bcf from the prior week. Compared with the same period last year, inventories were 28 Bcf lower, while they remained 185 Bcf above the five-year average of 2,984 Bcf. The commodity is currently trading up 1.76% at $2.78 per mmbtu. MCX Natural Gas futures are up around 2% at Rs 266.30 per mmbtu.
