Economic Buzz: UK business activity accelerates in August

The United Kingdom Flash PMI Composite Output Index rose to 52.5 in August from 52.2 in July, marking a 4-month high, S&P Global said in its preliminary report on Friday.

The Flash Services PMI Business Activity Index increased to 52.8 from 52.1, reaching a 6-month high while the Flash Manufacturing PMI declined to 51.5 from 51.9. Total new business grew at the fastest rate since February, while employment continued to weakening.
