Economic Buzz: German business activity slows in August

Germany's private sector activity expanded at a slower pace in August, with the Flash PMI Composite Output Index landing at 51.0 points, shrinking when compared to 51.3 in July and reaching a 2-month high, S&P Global revealed in its preliminary report on Friday.

The country's Flash Services PMI Business Activity Index decreased by 1.3 points to 48.5 in the reported month, while the Flash Manufacturing PMI increased by 1.9 points to 54.1, reaching a three-month low and 51-month high, respectively. Meanwhile, the Flash Manufacturing Output Index rose by two points to reach a 55-month high at 54.7.
