Economic Buzz: Japan inflation up from 1.7% to 1.9% in July

Japan's consumer inflation increased in July, with the nationwide consumer price index rising 1.9% from a year earlier, data by the Statistics Bureau of Japan showed on Friday.

The pace picked up from June's 1.6% gain.

Excluding fresh food, prices rose 1.8% from a year earlier, accelerating from 1.6% in the previous month. Excluding both fresh food and energy, prices increased 1.9%, up from 1.7%.
