Economic Buzz: UK producer prices up 0.2% in July

The headline inflation rate for goods coming out of factories in the United Kingdom increased by 0.2% in July compared to the previous month, the country's Office for National Statistics (ONS) said in its report published on Wednesday. Compared to the same month in 2025, the figure jumped by 3.1%.

Meanwhile, producer input prices decreased by 1.7% compared to June but climbed 4.9% year-on-year.

Refined petroleum products provided the largest contribution to the fall in the annual inflation rate for output prices in July 2026, with prices falling by 2.9% on the month, the ONS said in the report.
