Copper pushes higher, futures up around 1%

COMEX Copper pushed higher today as supportive trends in Asian equities boosted the metal after it tested around one and half week low in last week. The counter currently trades at $6.68 per pound, up 1% on day. Meanwhile, in Asia today, China's Shanghai Composite index rose 1.41%. Hong Kong?s Hang Seng index jumped 1.34%. Japanese Nikkei index added 0.74%. European stocks saw mixed moves with major indices trading in a range. The US markets saw tepid moves on Friday following a report that showed shoppers spent less at US retailers last month. However, major US stock indices are still just under record highs, keeping trends in risk appetite mostly steady. MCX Copper futures are up also up 1% at Rs 1392.10 per kg after topping Rs 1400 mark briefly.
