Economic Buzz: Japan industrial output surges 1.9% in June

Japan?s industrial production rose 1.9% MoM in June, beating the 1.3% flash estimate and accelerating from 0.1% in May. The gain marked the third consecutive monthly expansion, supported by a sharp recovery in production machinery and electrical equipment. On an annual basis, output jumped 4.9%, reversing May?s 2.1% decline and marking the strongest increase since September 2022, signalling a broadening recovery in Japan?s manufacturing sector.
