Economic Buzz: US retail sales down by 0.6% in July

Retail and food services sales in the United States observed a monthly decline of 0.6% to reach $763.6 billion, the Census Bureau said in its preliminary report published on Friday. Year-on-year, the figure jumped by 5%.

Total sales in the three months ending July increased by 6.3% on an annual basis. In the first seven months of the year, total retail and food services sales rose 5.% compared to the same period of 2025.
