Copper supported amid generally steady risk appetite

COMEX Copper futures edged up today as generally supportive risk appetite pushed up the metal towards $6.70 per pound. The red metal currently trades at $6.68 per pound, up 0.69% on the day and has jumped around 1.40% this week so far. Weak inventories continue to boost sentiments for copper. MCX Copper is up 0.33% at Rs 1383.75 per kg after hitting highs above Rs 1386 per kg. Meanwhile, in equities, China's Shanghai Composite index added 0.32%. Hong Kong?s Hang Seng index dipped 0.82%. Japanese markets jumped 0.83%. European stocks were mixed. The US stocks eased a bit in last session but held near record high. DOW fell around 0.30%.
