Copper rises, US equities near record high

Copper futures rose impressively today, hitting near $6.70 per pound and currently trades up 0.90% at $6.67 per pound. MCX Copper is up 0.41% at Rs 1382.65 per kg after nearing around Rs 1386 per kg in intraday moves. In Asia, China's Shanghai Composite index eased 0.82%. Hong Kong?s Hang Seng index fell 1.10%. Japanese markets are closed today for Mountain Day. European stocks saw mixed moves. The US stocks saw tepid moves on Monday though sentiments are broadly supportive. The three major US stock indexes were coming off their best weekly performance since April. The S&P 500 also ended last week at a record closing high.
