Commodities Buzz: Silver net speculative long positions up marginally from seven-month low

Precious metals speculators marginally increased their net long positions in the Silver futures markets last week after recent declines, according to the latest Commitment of Traders (COT) data released by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). The non-commercial futures contracts of Silver futures, traded by large speculators, hedge funds and retailers, totaled a net position of 22280 contracts in the data reported through August 4, 2026. This was a weekly rise of 63 net contracts and pulled them up slightly from seven-week low.
