Economic Buzz: China inflation down from 1.0% to 0.5% in July

China's consumer price index (CPI) went up by 0.5% in July year-on-year, down from a 1.0% rise in June and slightly lower than expected, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said on Sunday.

On a monthly basis, prices fell 0.1%, following a 0.3% decline from the previous month.

Meanwhile, the Producer Price Index (PPI) increased 3.5% month-on-month, coming in below market expectations.
