Economic Buzz: German industrial production up 0.2% in June

Industrial production in Germany rose 0.2% in June compared to the month before, the country's Federal Statistical Office Destatis revealed in its report published on Friday. Output in the industry was down 0.1% year-over-year.

The largest contributor to the monthly increase was the automotive industry, as production in the sector grew 3.6% in June compared to May. In addition, consumer goods production advanced by 1%, and capital goods output increased 0.2% on a monthly level. Meanwhile, the production of intermediate goods declined 0.9%.

Production in industry, excluding energy and construction, was unchanged in June compared to the previous month, and was down 0.8% compared to June 2025.
