Economic Buzz: US wholesale inventories up by 0.2% in June

Wholesale inventories in the United States increased by 0.2% in June compared to the revised May reading, reaching $944.7 billion, the Census Bureau said in its report published on Thursday. Year-over-year, the figure was up by 4.2%.

Sales of merchant wholesalers, adjusted for seasonal variations and trading-day differences but not for price changes, stood at $794.1 billion, down 3% on a monthly basis and surging 14.1% on an annual basis.

The ratio between inventories and sales for merchant wholesalers was 1.19, compared to 1.30 registered in June 2025.
