MCX Evening Update: Bullion counters soar, Gold garners gains of around 2%

Precious metals saw excellent gains on MCX today. MCX Gold futures rose at a sustained pace during the session and currently trade at Rs 147102 per 10 grams, up 1.94% on the day. The open interest in the counter has seen a modest rise. MCX Silver is also up 2.40% at Rs 227000 per kg after hitting highs around Rs 228000 per kg. The US dollar index is soft today, keeping metals elevated while DOW futures are up 0.40%.
