Energy Preview: Oil prices rebound amid uncertainty over ongoing war in Middle East

04-Aug-2026 | 09:01

WTI crude oil prices rebounded above $81 per barrel mark on Tuesday morning in Asia amid the uncertainty over the ongoing war in the Middle East. Iran reportedly said on Monday there were no talks underway with the US, and there is no plan for any meetings. This however, contradicted US President Donald Trump, who has cited resumption of negotiations as justification for calling off attacks over the weekend. The weekly inventories data will be watched for further cues. Currently, the counter is quoting at $81.02 per barrel, up 0.85% on the day whereas Brent oil is up more than 1% at around $84.75 per barrel.
