Economic Buzz: US personal spending up 0.3% in June

Personal consumption expenditures (PCE) in the United States rose by $65.2 billion, or 0.3%, on a monthly basis in June, the country's Bureau of Economic Analysis revealed in its report published on Thursday.

The PCE price index, the preferred measure of inflation for the Federal Reserve, decreased by 0.1% on a monthly basis in June, while climbing by 3.7% compared to the same month in the previous year. Excluding food and energy, the PCE price index advanced by 0.1% compared to May, and by 3.3% compared to June 2025.

Meanwhile, personal income rose 0.2% or $54.9 billion in the reported month compared to the previous month, while disposable personal income (DPI) grew by $48.3 billion or 0.2%.
