Economic Buzz: French GDP rebounds 0.2% as exports drive recovery
30-Jul-2026 | 11:15
France's economy expanded 0.2% quarter-on-quarter in the second quarter of 2026, rebounding from the previous quarter's contraction as a sharp recovery in exports boosted net trade. Household consumption and government spending also returned to positive territory, providing additional support to economic activity. On an annual basis, GDP growth eased slightly to 0.7% from 0.8% in the previous quarter, while weak business investment and a sharp drag from inventory reductions continued to weigh on the broader growth outlook.
