Commodities Buzz: Gold net speculative long positions slide further

Precious metals speculators yet again cut their net long position in the Gold futures sharply, according to the latest Commitment of Traders (COT) data released by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). The non-commercial futures contracts of Gold futures, traded by large speculators, hedge funds and retailers, totalled a net position of 2772 contracts in the data reported through July 21, 2026, sliding by 2772 contracts from the previous week. The net longs have dipped further from around six-month high.
