Economic Buzz: US new home sales up 1.6% in June

Sales of new single‐family houses in the United States came in at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 628,000 in June, the country's Census Bureau and the Department of Housing and Urban Development revealed in a report on Friday.
Month-over-month, the figure rose 1.6%. On an annual basis, the reading fell 5.6%.
In the reported month, the median sales price of new houses sold amounted to $398,300, while the average sales price came in at $475,400. The seasonally-adjusted estimate of new houses for sale at the end of June stood at 485,000, translating to a 9.3-month supply at the current rate of sales.
