24-Jul-2026 | 11:36
Japan's core consumer inflation accelerated to 1.6% year-on-year in June 2026 from 1.4% in May, the highest reading since March, but remained below the Bank of Japan's 2% target for a fifth consecutive month. Meanwhile, core-core inflation, which excludes fresh food and energy, eased to 1.7%, its slowest pace since August 2022, indicating subdued underlying price pressures despite the BoJ's June rate hike.
