Economic Buzz: Japan inflation up from 1.5% to 1.7% in June

The annual inflation in Japan came in at 1.7% in June, up from last month's figure of 1.5%, according to Friday's data from the Statistics Bureau of Japan.

The headline index stood at 112.7, with the report also showing that consumer prices excluding fresh food and energy dropped from the previous month's 1.8% to 1.7%.

Meanwhile, core CPI, which excludes fresh food, climbed 1.6%, up from the previous 1.4%.
