Economic Buzz: UK inflation down from 2.8% to 2.6% in June

The annual inflation rate in the United Kingdom stood at 2.6% in June, down from 2.8% in May, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) said in its report published on Wednesday. Month-on-month, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose by 0.1%.

The Consumer Prices Index including owner occupiers' housing costs (CPIH) increased by 2.8% year-on-year, compared with 3% in May, and advanced by 0.2% monthly. The Consumer Price Index (CPI) excluding food, energy, alcohol, and tobacco remained unchanged at 2.6% annually. CPI goods inflation fell to 1.7% from 2%, while services inflation declined to 3.6% from 3.7%.
